Retreat, The

Emergency Room Companion Program: Volunteers are on 24 hour call to meet victims at hospital emergency rooms. To request an ERC, call the hotline (360-3606) or ask the hospital to call VIBS. Contact person - Virginia S.
Speaker's Bureau/Community Education: Educational presentations on the dynamics of rape, date rape, sexual harassment, domestic violence, and teen dating violence. Professional training and staff in-services are also available. Contact person - Susan K.
HALT (Help Abusers Learn Together) Program: This program is designed for men who want help in overcoming their abusive behavior. Voluntary and court mandated referrals are accepted into the program. Contact person - Andrew G. (360-2270).
Advocacy: Information, referral, and court accompaniment. Advocates interface with Family and Criminal Court, the Police Department, the Probation Department and the District Attorney. Contact person - Ruth R.
SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner) Program: Coordination with nurses who have been specially trained to examine sexual assault victims, collect evidence and testify in court. We reworking to expand this program into more hospitals . Establish procedures and protocols involving hospitals, police, DA's office and VIBS as the rape crisis agency. Contact person - Joanne G.
